Chai Cancer Care
The Jewish Community's Cancer Support Organisation

More and more Jewish cancer patients, their families and friends are turning to Chai at all stages of their cancer journey. The expertise, care and support that Chai provides ensures that they do not feel alone at this devastating time in their lives.
The Chai Cancer Support Centre, a haven of tranquillity and care at the heart of the Jewish Community in Hendon, is the base for our services and support programmes. We are now delighted to announce that we are also offering our services from the Redbridge Community Centre and in South London at Nightingale.
Chai services are available to all members of the Jewish community, regardless of age, type of cancer, stage of the disease, religious affiliation or financial means. For those who are no longer able to come to our centre, we will take many of our services to their homes instead.
We hope that you find this site helpful in finding any information that you need.
About Chai
Known and recognised as the Anglo-Jewish Community’s Cancer Support Organisation, Chai Cancer Care provides an extensive range of services for cancer patients, their family and friends.
From initial diagnosis, through treatment, during the period when patients and their families are trying to regain control of their lives, and even many years later, Chai provides essential support.
We rely on the generosity of our supporters to enable us to provide this vital service.
Chai Services
Cancer patients who turn to Chai Cancer Care recognise that we can help give them back control over their lives thanks to our knowledge and experience.
At Chai, we know that one can recover from many cancers. We know that cancer patients who adopt an active role in their own recovery can have a positive impact on the quality of their lives.
Recognising that cancer affects not just the patient, Chai's services are available to family and friends as well.
As medical advances facilitate the survival for more cancer patients, Chai Cancer Care's role is ever more critical. Through our education and awareness programmes we keep the Jewish Community up-to-date with the latest developments in cancer treatment and care.
We offer a holistic approach, treating the 'patient' rather than the 'disease'. Our complementary therapies and physical and psychosocial support improve quality of life and facilitate rehabilitation. Research demonstrates that relief from stress and anxiety can promote healing.
Utilising our national and international connections, we can put patients in touch with the right cancer specialist and treatment for their particular illness and provide information that facilitates considered choice and control over treatment. Through education and awareness campaigns, we encourage and facilitate proactive cancer prevention, detection and early diagnosis.
We provide a range of expert advisory services; medical, legal, financial and spiritual. Our home support service is available to those clients who are unable to access our sites.
There are subsidised charges for some of our services. It is our principle that all members of the Jewish Community should benefit, regardless of their financial means. No one is turned away.
