Pirkei Avot (Ethics of the Fathers)

Rabbi Jesner is currently conducting a study of Pirkei Avot (Ethics of the Fathers) from 10:00 for an hour or so every Tuesday morning in the shul. All are welcome regardless of age, gender and degree of knowledge.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own editions of Avot, and numerous versions are made available for those who don’t have one of their own.

For each Mishnah in turn, we discuss and analyse the various commentaries under Rabbi Jesner’s guidance. Particular emphasis is given to historical context and how the teachings are as relevant today as they were when they were written.

Avot is a truly unique work and this is an unmissable opportunity to become acquainted with some of the geniuses of our past.
